ASSOCHAM to hold summit on urban infra
The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) announced that it will be holding, Urban Infrastructure Summit on September 14, 2023 at ITC Kakatiya in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) announced that it will be holding, Urban Infrastructure Summit on September 14, 2023 at ITC Kakatiya in Hyderabad. The event will focus on “building sustainable cities,” and will offer a platform to deliberate on strategies, innovations and shaping India’s urban infrastructure landscape. K T Rama Rao, Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) has been invited to inaugurate the Summit. Discussions on innovative infrastructure projects, technology-driven solutions, community engagement, policy frameworks, and investment opportunities, are expected to take place at the event
ASSOCHAM in a statement said, by 2050, an estimated seven out of 10 people will likely live in urban areas. Cities are considered as drivers of economic growth and contribute more than 80 per cent of global GDP. However, they also account for more than 70 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions. If well-planned and managed, urban development can be sustainable and can generate inclusive prosperity.
ASSOCHAM further said that today, urban growth in Telangana is the fastest and growing further. In a significant move aimed at transforming the State’s transportation landscape, the Telangana Cabinet has recently announced major plans, with a focus on expanding the metro rail network. The ambitious project is expected to revolutionize urban commuting and propel the State towards a more sustainable and efficient future.
